Kelsey, Jordan, and I got to spend some time yesterday sharing our colorful Kentucky heritage with the 3rd grade students at Wiehagenschule in Werne. We read the book "B is for Bluegrass", shared some of the most noted Kentucky symbols, and taught them how to sing "My Old Kentucky Home". The students were given the opportunity to feel an authentic raccoon skin cap, to recognize and represent the Kentucky symbols, and to take an American penny home at the end of the lesson.
The third grade students really enjoyed our Kentucky presentation yesterday, so Kelsey and Jordan are sharing it with our fourth grade students today. Unfortunately, I am sick and staying home. I have a fever and a fairly miserable sinus infection, but hopefully I will be feeling better soon. Tomorrow, we plan to share an American Christmas lesson with the students, and I would sure hate to miss that!
I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Thank you for stopping by!
Tschüss,
Johni (Mrs. L)
